Murugappa Morgan

Providing high temperature Superwool® low biopersistent fibres, insulating firebrick, monolitihc refractory and WDS® microporous insulation products and systems for thermal management of ceramics and glass manufacturing.

Murugappa Morgan engineered solutions are used in ceramic kilns and glass furnaces, helping to improve productivity through maximising space and process efficiency by reducing energy consumption, emissions and operating costs.

Murugappa Morgan makes insulating firebricks (K™, JM®, TJM™) in standard and custom shapes. They are used widely in roller, shuttle, tunnel, and hobby kilns and in the glass furnaces, due to their strength and outstanding thermal and mechanical insulating values across the temperature range. The K-23 IFB is an industry leading solution for hobby kiln manufacturers for its low density, low thermal conductivity and excellent hot load strength.

Superwool Plus and Superwool HT Bulk have excellent thermal stability and retain the original soft fibrous structure up to their continuous use temperature - Superwool Plus Bulk 1050°C (1920°F) and Superwool HT Bulk 1150°C (2100°F). With a classification temperature of 1200°C (2190°F) for Superwool Plus and 1300°C (2370°F) for Superwool HT Bulk each offer enhanced thermal properties. Superwool Plus Bulk and Superwool HT Bulk contain no binder and do not emit fumes or odour during the first firing.

Features
• Excellent resistance to thermal shock
• Fibres are opaque to infrared and so maintain their low thermal conductivity to high temperatures
• Fibres absorb very little energy on heating
• Fibres are high purity and highly corrosion resistant
• Fibres are highly resilient
